MBABANE – In a move to bring an end to the on-going strike, Standard Bank Eswatini has made an improvement its offer from 5.1 percent to 5.5 percent.
This offer, according Standard Bank Chief Executive (CE) Mvuselelo Fakudze, will be valid until this coming Friday morning (August 2, 2024) at 8am. Fakudze said they have informed the Swaziland Union of Financial Institutions and Allied Workers (SUFIAW) that they have put a sunset clause into the offer they initially had.
He said they had put an offer of 5.5 percent, as the sunset clause, which was going to lapse until Friday. Friday expressed hope that the workers would accept the offer before the deadline of 8am on Friday, because if that did not happen, they would revert back to the offer of 5.1 percent they had initially put on the table and that would result in the workers being worse off than now.
