MBABANE – Stefanutti Stocks (S&S) Construction has announced an increase in its sponsorship for the Malkerns Promotion League from the coming season to E60 000 from E50 000.
The sponsorship increase was revealed during the Stefanutti Stocks Malkerns Promotion League prize presentation yesterday (Wednesday, July 24, 2024) in Matsapha.
This substantial boost from last year’s E50 000 marks a significant commitment to promoting local football and encouraging youth participation in sports. As part of this initiative, Stefanutti Stocks will provide not only financial support but also soccer kits for both the champions and runners-up, along with three soccer balls for each team.
In the 2023/24 season, Uche FC emerged as the champions and they were awarded with a trophy plus E9 000 and a complete soccer kit, while this year’s enhancements promise to elevate the competitive spirit and rewards associated with the league.
Lobamba Lomdzala MP Marwick Khumalo expressed appreciation for Stefanutti Stocks’ investment in the local sports community. He underscored the importance of fair play among clubs, advocating for a sporting environment free from violence and misconduct.
Stefanutti Stocks Senior Finance Manager Welile Vilakati praised the positive behaviour exhibited by the teams during matches, stating that such conduct is crucial for attracting further sponsorship opportunities.
She also said that the commitment to fair play would encourage more businesses to invest in the league, benefiting all stakeholders involved.
In recognition of its contributions, Stefanutti Stocks received a certificate of appreciation from Manzini Regional Football Association (MRFA) Executive Member Manqoba Mahlindza, along with the National team’s kit, celebrating their role in supporting the Malkerns Promotion League. This partnership highlights the potential for local businesses to play a pivotal role in enhancing the sporting landscape in Eswatini.
