MBABANE – Nsingizini Hotspurs are on the brink of making history in the MTN Premier League of Eswatini. With just three matches left in the season, the Shiselweni-based club sits at the top of the log with 54 points, holding a narrow two-point lead over their closest rivals, Royal Leopard. The race for the championship is intense, and every point counts as Nsingizini aims to clinch their first-ever league title.
Reflecting on their recent encounter against Mbabane Swallows, Nsingizini Hotspurs PRO Mnotfo Nkosi described the match as “tough and very competitive,” highlighting the determination of both teams to secure a win. He expressed gratitude to the club’s supporters for their unwavering backing throughout the campaign and took a moment to wish Mbabane Swallows’ player Kara’s a speedy recovery after he sustained an injury during the game.
Looking ahead, Mnotfo Nkosi emphasized the importance of preparation as Nsingizini gears up to face Mbabane Highlanders in their next fixture. “We are looking forward to the match and will be well-prepared for the encounter,” he stated, signaling the team’s focus and commitment as the season draws to a close.
When questioned on the morning radio sports show about their title ambitions, Mnotfo was measured in his response. He reiterated that the club’s primary goal is to secure a top-four finish and accumulate as many points as possible, while also acknowledging satisfaction with their current position at the summit of the league. This cautious optimism reflects the mindset within the camp, as echoed by club president Derrick Shiba, who recently called for mental strength and unity among all stakeholders in these decisive final matches.
With three crucial games remaining, Nsingizini Hotspurs’ fate lies in their own hands. If they maintain their form and composure under pressure, they could soon be crowned champions of Eswatini’s top flight, capping off a remarkable season for the club and its passionate supporters.
