MBABANE – Former sprinter Sibusiso ‘Swazi Bolt’ Matsenjwa will be attending an extraordinary general assembly in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Matsenjwa is set to leave the country on Wednesday morning for the two days meeting. Matsenjwa who hold the national records in 100m and 200m is thriving administratively after ending his athletics career after the 2024 Paris Olympics Games in August.
He confirmed his departure on Tuesday.
“Tomorrow (Wednesday, October 9, 2024) I ‘am going to a an extraordinary general assembly in Lausanne , Switzerland at the Olympic Headquarters house for World Olympian supported by International Olympic Committee (IOC) through the Our NOC (EOCGA) it’s a 2 days meeting to be held on Friday and Saturday,” he said.
Matsenjwa who comes from the Royal Eswatini Police Services (REPS) Athletics team thanked the support from the National Commissioner Vusi Masango and the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA).
“Thanks for the support from Natcom together with his executive, through commandant police academy for giving me a permission to attend such an important meeting,” he said.
Matsenjwa is now investing his time in administration as he also holds some positions including being the Chairman of the Athletics Commission.
