LOBAMBA – A gesture of deep friendship and empowerment marked the afternoon air at Ludzidzini Royal Residence, where Her Majesty the Indlovukazi welcomed a gift that promises to uplift women across Eswatini.
Her Majesty received a cheque of approximately E9.3 million (USD 500 000) from His Excellency Lin Chia-Lung, the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Republic of China (Taiwan) and Special Envoy to the President. The funds are earmarked for the Women Business Start-up Micro Finance Revolving Fund, a national initiative aimed at supporting aspiring women entrepreneurs across the Kingdom.
The ceremony took place during a courtesy visit by the Taiwanese minister, who expressed his country’s continued commitment to empowering Eswatini’s communities through strategic partnerships. The contribution is expected to help many women launch or expand small businesses, fostering financial independence and community development.
Following the presentation, Minister Lin proceeded to Lozitha Palace for a courtesy call on His Majesty King Mswati III and to participate in the unveiling of a major national project.
This latest donation reflects the strong and growing bond between Eswatini and Taiwan, anchored in mutual respect, development, and shared aspirations for prosperity.
