KWALUSENI – His Majesty King Mswati III encourages University of Eswatini (UNESWA) graduates to start entrepreneurial ventures.
The king said the students should take advantage of the entrepreneurial opportunities that could be provided in the public and private sector. He also encouraged captains of industry to offer internship programmes to the students.
The internship programmes, according to the king, would give the students a chance to gain the much-needed experience so that they could be employed when the opportunity presented itself. The king said the training made students to fit into the world of work.
The king also told the students that Eswatini had formulated an Industrial Policy of 2023 to 2033. The country also had the National Development Plan of 2023 to 2028, which were in line with Africa’s development agenda.
He said Africa’s development agenda centred around adding value to the raw materials that were exported by the continent. He encouraged the students to continue investing in research so that they could be able to contribute more knowledge that could help the continent’s development agenda to become a reality.
His Majesty further pleaded with the University to look for partners they could work with in developing the institution. He said other African countries used universities to help them develop. He said universities from those countries also collaborated with technological companies from first world countries in order to exchange knowledge on many subject matters.
