MBABANE – Members of the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) have presented five cattle to Their Majesties.
This happened today (Friday, July 5, 2024) at Matsapha Police Academy. This was during the celebration of the 21st Police Day and the commemoration of the 117th Anniversary of REPS’ existence. The announcement of the gifts was made by Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini. This was when the premier took to the podium to ask the King, who is also REPS Commissioner-in-Chief, to address the police and the nation.
Announcing the gifts, the prime minister said two of the cattle belonged to Her Majesty the Indlovukazi, while three of them belonged to His Majesty King Mswati III. Dlamini also announced that the police have given an amount of E60 000 to Her Majesty the Indlovukazi, which was going to make a contribution to Philani Maswati Charity Organisation when it fulfilled its responsibilities.
“Before I make my humble request His Majesty to address members of the police service and the nation at large, may I humbly present gifts to His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Indlovukazi that are from members of the police service in appreciation of your gracing this event. The Gifts being presented are:- ▪ three cattle for His Majesty the Ingwenyama ▪ two cattle for Her Majesty the Indlovukazi ▪ and a cheque of E60 000 to Her Majesty the Indlovukazi towards Philani Maswati Charity Organisation,” Dlamini said.
