MBABANE – There are many other people who are as talented as Ndoniyamanzi Luhlanga (11), but they are not as exposed as the renowned ballet dancer.
This was said by Velile Dube, who is Ndoniyamanzi’s teacher and mentor. Dube, who was overwhelmed with joy at the event, stated that she has been teaching Luhlanga how to dance ballet since she was four years old. She also trains others how to dance, under the banner of a company known as Talent and Motions Academy, which she directs.
“There are many Ndoniyamanzis where she comes from. I started training her in 2016, when she was four years old and when we started, there were four of these kids, but now, we are training over 100 of them at Talents and Motions,” Dube said.
Dube said at the moment, there was one of the kids who won and she was supposed to compete in Serbia and they were still making arrangements for her to go. Dube also mentioned that previously, other kids had won and were supposed to go to Croatia. However, they could not be able due to financial constraints.
She thanked Government, particularly the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, and Eswatini National Sports and Recreation Council for supporting Luhlanga. She further pleaded for more support, so that many of these kids could be supported. She further mentioned that she wished for other professional dancers to come to the country to train the young dancers.
