SIDVOKODVO – The Throne Room was more than just an event; it was a sacred gathering that connected gospel lovers in worship and praise on the evening of on Sunday (March 9, 2025).
Hosted at the TLC Events Centre, the night was filled with an atmosphere of expectancy, making it a celestial experience wrapped in song.
From the moment the doors swung open at 4:00 p.m., attendees began to trickle in, some dressed in their Sunday best, others in simple yet elegant worship attire. Regardless of their clothing, all shared a deep hunger for a spiritual encounter. The TLC Events Centre, known for hosting high-energy concerts, transformed into a hallowed ground where melodies became prayers and lyrics told testimonies.
As the sun dipped behind the horizon, the stage came alive with anointed gospel artists whose voices carried the weight of generations of faith. First to take the stage was Bongekile Nxumalo, whose voice seemed to have a direct line to heaven. The crowd responded in unison, their voices rising in a powerful chorus that echoed beyond the venue walls. Hands were lifted, and some worshippers knelt in reverence, fully immersed in the presence of God.
Next up was Shekinah Motsa, a local gospel sensation who has captured the hearts of many. Her carefully curated selection of worship songs stirred something deep in the congregation, eliciting emotional responses that included tears rolling down cheeks and hands clasped over hearts. It was a moment that transcended mere performance; it was ministry in motion.
Sphiwo Ndoni followed, bringing forth a voice rich with the very faith he sang about. His set was a journey through worship, leading the crowd through beloved gospel anthems like “Waze Wetsembeka Kimi” and “Tive Temhlaba.” The sheer power of his voice and sincerity in his delivery left the audience spellbound, as lyrics transformed from mere words into heartfelt declarations of gratitude.
A highlight of the evening came when Sneziey, the celebrated South African gospel singer known for her impressive run on Idols SA Season 15, took the stage. Her ability to command the audience is legendary, and she did not disappoint. As she sang, the atmosphere shifted, filling the venue with her deep, resonant voice. Worshippers were lifted from their seats, hands raised and feet moving, as they fully engaged in the worship experience.
The event reached its zenith with Xolly Mncwango, one of the biggest names in South African gospel. To call her a gospel singer would be an understatement; she is a vessel and a minister, with music soaked in anointing. From the moment she sang the first note, a hush fell over the crowd, each person holding their breath in anticipation of her divine performance.
With songs from her celebrated album Jesus Is Enough, Xolly delivered a performance that felt less like a concert and more like a divine appointment. Her voice carried authority, her words spoke truth, and her presence provided peace. As she sang, it became clear why she is one of the most revered names in contemporary gospel.
As the final chords rang out and the last note faded, a moment of stillness enveloped the audience. No one wanted to leave. Worshippers stood in place, some whispering prayers, others wiping away tears. The Throne Room had indeed lived up to its name—a night where heaven kissed earth, and every soul present felt the divine presence.
What made this event special was not just the talent on stage but the heart behind it. This gathering transcended music; it was about unity, faith, and an unforgettable moment where all else faded away, leaving only the pure, unfiltered presence of God.
As attendees slowly made their way out of the TLC Events Centre, one thing was clear—this was not merely a concert. It was an encounter, a night of transformation, and a glimpse into the divine. After an experience of this magnitude, it is certain that once you’ve worshipped at this level, you will never be the same again.
