MBOMBELA – A proud moment for Eswatini as one of its own, Zee Nxumalo, has been nominated for her song and will also perform at the upcoming biggest music awards in South Africa, the Metro FM Awards next month.
The highly anticipated Metro FM Music Awards will be held in Mpumalanga on May 3 at the Mbombela Stadium.
It is worth highlighting that Zee Nxumalo has been nominated under the Best Kwaito/Gqom Song for her song titled FOMO, where she is featured with Goldmax, Dlala Thukzin, and Funky Qla. The Best RSA Amapiano genre leads the pack with Kabza De Small, DJ Maphorisa, and Scotts Maphuma topping the list with four nominations each.
This year’s awards theme is “Crowning Greatness” for the 25th edition. The awards ceremony is sponsored by the Motsepe Foundation, which will sponsor each category winner with E50 000. The winner of the Song of the Year will receive a grand prize of E150 000.
The awards will include a live concert with a star-studded line-up after the awards ceremony. The line-up includes:

It’s worth highlighting that she will be performing in the country on Thursday at the MTN Firefly Grand Finale at House on Fire.
Last month, Nxumalo showcased her talent at the 12th edition of the Limpopo Marula Festival Reloaded 2025 on March 1, 2025. The festival, held at the Impala Park Stadium in Phalaborwa, South Africa, featured renowned South African artists such as Bishop Benjamin Dube, Zonke Dikana, Makhadzi, Daliwonga, Shebeshxt, Simmy, Hernie, and King Monada.
At just 22 years old, the Eswatini-born Afro-pop and Amapiano artist has made a significant impact on the music scene, particularly known for her infectious rhythms and soulful melodies. Her hit single “Thula Mabota” has amassed over 5 million views on YouTube, further establishing her as a prominent figure in the industry.
In other exciting news, for her upcoming collaborations, Nxumalo is set to collaborate with some of South Africa’s most prominent artists, including the Inkabi Zezwe duo and Nkosazana Daughter. The collaboration will feature Sjava, born Jabulani Hadebe, a rapper and actor, and Big Zulu, born Siyabonga Nene, a rapper and songwriter. Additionally, Nkosazana Daughter, born Nkosazana Nolwazi Kimberly Nzama, is a talented singer and songwriter.
