MBABANE– The Eswatini College of Technology (ECOT) celebrated the achievements of 276 graduates on 28 November 2025 at its 23rd Graduation Ceremony, held at St Marks High School in Mbabane.
The milestone event brought together government officials, industry partners, parents, and the wider ECOT community to honor students who have successfully completed their technical and vocational studies.
The graduates, comprising 212 males and 74 females, were recognized for their dedication, resilience, and academic excellence across a range of fields including building and civil engineering, business administration, and technology.
Acting Minister of Education and Training, Dr Cebsile Nxumalo, congratulated the graduates on their achievements. “Today is not just a celebration of academic success, but of courage, perseverance, and the commitment to shape your future,” Dr Nxumalo said. She urged graduates to go beyond seeking employment, encouraging them to be innovators, entrepreneurs, creators, and leaders. “Do not simply wait for doors to open. Build your own doors. Shape your own paths. Carry forward the spirit of curiosity and lifelong learning,” she said.
Dr Nxumalo also acknowledged the critical role of ECOT’s management, lecturers, parents, and guardians in supporting the students throughout their academic journey. She highlighted the importance of industry partnerships in equipping graduates with practical skills and expressed gratitude to the Taiwan Technical Mission for their support in cultivating global standards and innovation at ECOT.
Acting Principal of ECOT, Henry Khumalo, echoed the Minister’s sentiments, emphasizing the value of international collaborations and industry engagement. He highlighted initiatives such as the OpenTIVET system, introduced through the Commonwealth of Learning, which widens access to technical education through technology-driven learning. He also recognized students who have qualified for the World Skills Competition as a testament to the college’s commitment to excellence.
“This is a defining moment,” Khumalo said. “You are no longer just students, you are now ambassadors of ECOT. As you step into the world beyond these walls, remember that you carry not only knowledge and skills, but also the responsibility to lead, innovate, and uplift your communities.”
The graduation ceremony reinforced ECOT’s ambition to become a leading centre for digital integration and technical education in Eswatini. With strong industry and international partnerships, the college continues to prepare students for a competitive, technology-driven world, while instilling values of discipline, integrity, and creativity.
