MBABANE– The spirit of inclusion and determination will once again shine bright at this year’s Imbube Marathon, as 45 Special Olympics Eswatini athletes lace up their running shoes to take part in the country’s biggest road race.
This year marks an exciting milestone for Special Olympics Eswatini, with the number of participating athletes increasing from 40 last year to 45 — a clear sign of growth, confidence, and enthusiasm among the nation’s differently-abled sports stars.
According to Special Olympics Eswatini officials, this year’s participation not only represents athletic growth but also the organization’s continued mission to promote inclusion through sport. The athletes will be competing across different race categories, with some aiming to improve their personal bests while others simply embrace the joy of taking part in a national event alongside thousands of other runners.
“We as special Olympics Eswatini are always willing to uplift our athletes to new heights ,the imbube marathon is a perfect platform for the athletes to push through their limits and show their inner incredible strength.” Said Ndlangamandla.
The Imbube Marathon, which attracts both local and international participants, has become a key platform for promoting fitness, unity, and national pride. The inclusion of Special Olympics athletes each year highlights the event’s commitment to accessibility and diversity.
