FOOTBALL SQUADS MUST BE READY FOR COSAFA BUSY SCHEDULE

MBABANE – The Football National Squad must be ready for COSAFA busy second half of 2024 with several tournaments at all age-group levels from Under-15 to senior international football on the horizon, many of them continental qualifiers.

Some of the squads under the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) that are set to compete in The OCSAFA tournament includes the National Under-20 squad, The Women’s National team, Sitsebe and the Under-17 National Team.

The Council of Southern African Football Association (COSAFA) busy schedule stars with the CAF Women’s Champions League/ COSAFA Qualifier to be staged in Blantyre, Malawi from August 15 – 24, where Young Buffaloes Ladies will be taking part.

According to cosafa.com, the COSAFA Women’s Championship where Sitsebe will be playing will return to Gqeberha, South Africa, which has become its traditional home over the last few years. That will be played from October 22 to November 2, 2024.

“The regional qualifiers for the CAF African Schools Football Championship are to be staged on the coast of Namibia from September 5 – 8, where the best Under -15 boys and girls from around Southern Africa will vie for a place in the continental finals. South Africa are the current African champions in the girls’ competition.

There will be another continental preliminary competition when the CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations/ COSAFA Qualifier is played from September 25 to October 6,” reads a statement from COSAFA.

Mozambique will play host to the CAF Under – 17 Africa Cup of Nations | COSAFA Qualifier which is to be staged from December 5 -15.
The COSAFA Women’s Under – 17 Championship – an AFCON qualifier, will also be played in Mozambique over the same dates.
