MBABANE – Golfer Mangaliso Masilela beat a field of about 40 golfers to win the Eswatini Royal Insurance Corporation (ESRIC) November Monthly Mug on Saturday (November 9, 2024) at the Mbabane Golf Club.
Masilela who was described as a new comer defeated seasoned competitors including Sam ‘Style’ Richards, Sandile Chonco, Mduduzi Hlophe and Tim Mavuso among with an impressive net of 67 to win the November 2024 edition.
“In a surprising turn of events, Mangaliso Masilela, a relative new comer, captured the ESRIC November Mug, defeating seasoned competition. Congratulations to Masilela and the other podium finishers,” reads a statement from Mbabane Golf Club.
Winning the gross category was Siboniso Simelane on 79 gross. Pantaleo Bashasha on net 69 claimed second spot. Completing the podium winners were Mduduzi Hlophe (70), Tim Mavuso (71) and Nosmilo Kgomo (73) claiming the ladies winner.
The winners were presented with their prizes by ESRIC Gcebile Simelane and the Captain Gideon Mhlongo.
ESRIC also congratulated Masilela. “Your skills and sportsmanship made this tournament one to remember,” they wrote.
