SWIMMERS GEARING UP FOR AGE GROUP GALA 4 AND OPEN WATER CHALLENGE

MBABANE – It will be an action-packed weekend for swimmers, with two major events lined up.

First, swimmers will compete in the Age Group Gala 4, hosted by The Pelicans Swimming Club on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Enjabulweni School. Then, on Sunday, February 9, 2025, the spotlight will shift to the 2025 Open Water Challenge, set to take place at Luphohlo Dam.

The Eswatini Swimming Association (ESA) has officially released the dates for both events.

Registration and Event Details

Participants looking to compete in the Open Water Challenge must pay a registration fee of E200. The competition will feature three race categories:

  • 1.5 km
  • 3 km
  • 5 km

Registration closes on February 7, 2025, at midnight, and can be completed online through the following link:

A statement from the ESA reads:

“Get ready for the 2025 Open Water Challenge! Join us at Luphohlo Dam (Sawmill entrance) on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at 9 AM. Register for one of the following races: 1.5 km, 3 km, or 5 km. ESA’s 2025 Season Kicks Off

The ESA launched its 2025 swimming calendar with the New Year Gala, held at Enjabulweni School on January 25, 2025. The event was hosted by the Griffin Swim Club.

With two major competitions taking place this weekend, the swimming fraternity is set for an exciting and competitive showcase of talent.
