MBABANE – The National Football team, Sihlangu players can make a name for themselves if they match the star studded Cameroon when the two sides clash this evening in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier match.

The match is billed for the Mbombela Stadium, South Africa, kick-off 6pm and it would be live on SABC Sport. This is one highly profile matches in the African qualifiers as Cameroon, with their eight World Cup appearances, lead the group but have Libya and Cape Verde just one point behind. A win against Sihlangu who have lost all their games, could create some breathing room at the top.

Sihlangu can a leave a mark in this game considering the challenges that were faced by the ‘Indomitable Lions’ of Cameroon ahead of the match.

While Sihlangu had a full house in their light training on Tuesday afternoon, only eight players for Cameroon attended that light training session and it excluded Premier League side Manchester United’s goalkeeper Andre Onana who was among the late arrivals.

There are also injuries in the squad called up by Belgium Coach Marc Brys who is also reported to be not a good relationship with re-elected Cameroon Football Association President Samuel Eto ahead of the match.

Cameroon is expected to be without the services of Napoli’s Franck Zambo Anguissa and Yvan Neyou from CD Leganés, both injured.

Sihlangu players must approached the game with their heads high knowing that all is not well in the Cameroon camp and Manchester United’s goalkeeper Andre Onana had been prone to mistakes as his side languish 13th in the English Premier League.

This is one game that sees Sihlangu players making a name of themselves. Sihlangu has four international South Africa’s Richards Bay Justice Figareido, Zambia Zesco United Lindo Mkhonta, Tanzania’s Tambora United Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze and Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy Mcolisi Mkhontfo.

Other capable players who can be troublesome to the Cameroon side include the stand in captain Felix Badenhorst, Green Mamba’s Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa and Green Mamba’s goalkeeper Colani Gama.

Sihlangu Coach Zdravko Logarusic expressed his confidence as he said they were ready to make the country proud.
