MBABANE – Learners from Ekwetsembeni Enthuthukweni and SDA primary schools joined together at Prince of Wales stadium to mark Social inclusion day through various sporting activities.
The event featured games such as egg race, sac race, athletics, handball, chess, football, and drum majorates. The event held under the theme ” my disabilities is my ability” was sponsored by Real image internet Eswatini alongside with the Mbabane municipal council, Special Olympics Eswatini, Eswatini football association, Eswatini Olympic commonwealth games association, with the aim to get encourage sportsmanship and appreciation of each and everyone’s uniqueness.
According to Mbabane municipal council mayor Thulani Mkhonto, the social Inclusion is a day in which their presence is b ing acknowledged. “The municipal council want to create an atmosphere of inclusion. As the town council, we have created traffic lights that can help all people with disabilities especially the blind be able to cross the road easily. Another thing is lifts that can communicate with them.” Said Mkhonto.
The celebration of the social Inclusion day brought together three schools that includes, Ekwetsembeni, Enthuthukweni, and SDA primary schools. In an inspiring event filled with joy, teamwork, and participation schools were participating in games such as egg race, sac race, athletics, handball, chess, football, and drum majorates.
The event not only promoted sportsmanship but also aimed to bridged the gep between learners with disabilities and their peers. Organizers stressed the importance of such initiatives in encouraging a more inclusive education system.
The atmosphere was filled with excitement and pride as students, teachers, and sponsors came together to celebrate the true spirit of inclusion.
