MANZINI – Women across Eswatini are invited to a day of worship, empowerment, and intercession as the Makoti Prayer Encounter returns on 24 May 2025 at the Swaziland Catholic Center (Caritas).
The event begins at 10:00 AM and is free to attend.Hosted by A Letter to Makoti, a non-profit organization founded in 2021, the encounter aims to support young wives and women in building resilient, faith-rooted homes. The organization’s mission, “Fixing each other’s crowns and holding each other’s hands until each one’s home becomes the warmest and healthiest place to be,” reflects its strong community values.
Founder and host Londiwe Dlamini will lead the gathering. Known for her dedication to marriage ministry, Dlamini empowers makoti (young wives) to cultivate love, wisdom, and faith within their households. “We come together in unity as women to pray for ourselves, our homes, and our marriages,” she said.
This year’s theme, “His Ears Are Open to My Prayers” (1 Peter 3:12), highlights God’s attentiveness to women’s prayers. The event will feature worship by celebrated artists Nelly Siwela and Lomkhosi Makhubu, whose music is expected to stir hearts and elevate the spiritual atmosphere.
The gathering underscores the biblical principle of collective prayer, inspired by Matthew 18:19–20, affirming God’s presence when believers unite in His name.
In addition to this event, A Letter to Makoti offers initiatives like Makoti Indaba, which addresses marital and social topics, and Before the Forever Journey, a seminar for unmarried women.
With rising attendance each year, the Makoti Prayer Encounter continues to grow as a key spiritual moment for women seeking healing, wisdom, and unity in their life journeys.
