MBABANE – Eswatini’s very own Deep House maestro, DJ Cup, is turning up the heat this winter as he prepares to bring his signature sound to South Beach in Maputo, Mozambique on 21 June 2025.
DJ Cup will be rubbing shoulders with international talent like Sianageddon from the UK-based United Nations collective and South African stars Oscar Mbo and Picat Da Italian. Mozambique’s own Sky White, known for headlining the All White Homecoming Crossover Party this past New Year’s Eve, will also bring his magic to the night.
The multi-award-winning DJ and producer, whose real name is Zama Welcome Maseko, will share the stage with a stellar line-up of local and international acts at an exclusive music experience dubbed “The Italian Elegant Experience.” The event, kicking off at 5 PM, is presented by South Beach Maputo and promises a blend of elegance and high-energy house music.
Also hitting the stage are house heavyweights and emerging talents such as Double Drop, Cortega, Khataza, Owa Oda, Yuss, Milena Silva, Ritmicki, and Hram.
This won’t be DJ Cup’s first Maputo appearance—he’s no stranger to the South Beach crowd. He previously rocked the same venue in February this year during the Xibalo Label Showcase, and again in July 2024. Speaking to this publication, he shared his excitement: “Mozambique is always a vibe. I’m thrilled to be back, especially with such a powerful line-up. My fans can expect nothing but fireworks!”
Adding to his growing list of achievements, DJ Cup recently dropped a brand-new project featuring Eswatini vocalists Zinia, Mvelo Tsabedze, and Temantungwa. Recorded at New Life Records and engineered by Tapes, the project has already begun turning heads in the local scene.
With more than a decade in the industry, DJ Cup continues to build his brand as not only a performer but also a producer, podcast curator, and event organiser. As Operations Director at New Life Entertainment, he’s deeply involved in every aspect of the music business—from artist bookings and sound hire to studio sessions and mentorship.
Having previously won MTN SWAMA Awards for Best House Song (2020) and Best Collaboration (2021), DJ Cup shows no signs of slowing down.
If you’re in Maputo this June, South Beach is the place to be—and DJ Cup is the name to watch.
