MBABANE – Newly-appointed Ministry of Public Service Principal Secretary (PS) Mthunzi Shabangu has promised to work diligently in his new position.
Shabangu is among the four new principal secretaries who were appointed to four ministries by His Majesty King Mswati III, through Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini, on June 21, 2025. Speaking about his appointment, Shabangu hailed His Majesty the King for trusting in his capabilities to do the job.
He said he was humbled by the appointment. Shabangu was working as Commissioner of Labour, under the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, before his appointment. The Ministry of Labour and Social Security also congratulated Shabangu for the appointment. The Ministry further appreciated his service during the time he was the commissioner of labour.
Shabangu was appointed together with new Ministry of Education and Training PS Nanikie Mnisi, former Ministry of Finance Bheki Bhembe, who will be the PS at the Private and Cabinet Offices (Prime Minister’s Office). Another appointee was Andreas Dlamini, who was the Director of ICT. He was appointed as the new PS at the Ministry of ICT.
Mnisi has been the Under Secretary (US) – Administration in the Ministry, and she has also acted in the position of PS. Mnisi was overcame by emotions when the staff members of the Ministry of Education and Training congratulated her on her new role. The staff members congratulated her in her offices on June 23, 2025.
Announcing their appointments on Saturday (June 21, 2025), the PM congratulated the appointees and expressed confidence in their ability to deliver results aligned with the Kingdom’s vision for sustainable development and improved public service delivery.
“We are optimistic that these appointments will accelerate progress in their respective ministries. Each individual brings a proven track record of leadership and commitment to national development,” said the PM
These appointments mark another positive step in strengthening Eswatini’s governance and service excellence.
