MBABANE – A vibrant wave of anticipation is sweeping across Eswatini as Matsapha gears up to host the 20th edition of the Eswatini Inter-Municipal Games (ESIGA) this coming weekend, on June 27, 2025.
The landmark event promises to bring colour, unity, and competitive spirit as municipal teams from across the country prepare to converge for what is set to be a memorable celebration of sport and collaboration.
The event will draw together mayors from all 15 municipalities and other key stakeholders who will be part taking in the games. This year’s edition is expected to raise the bar, as hundreds of participants get ready to compete in various sporting codes including soccer, volleyball, netball, tennis, pool, and other disciplines. The games will be spread across Matsapha’s premier venues, including the St George’s Army Barracks, His Majesty’s Correctional Services (HMCS) Matsapha, and the University of Eswatini’s Kwaluseni Campus.
As the weekend approaches, excitement is building throughout the country. Local businesses, supporters, and sports enthusiasts are all rallying behind the event, which not only promotes talent and fitness but also fosters lasting relationships among the country’s municipal leaders and staff.
With the town of Matsapha ready to host this significant sporting showcase, the stage is set for a weekend of high energy, sportsmanship, and community celebration.
