MBABANE– As 4 JerryP Meets Xowla Stallion, New Doors Opening for Eswatini’s Rising Star.
Eswatini’s music scene witnessed a historic breakthrough this past weekend when As 4 JerryP, the hitmaker behind the chart-topping single Mlentengamunye, met South African record producer and artist Xowla Stallion of Nkabi Records.
The connection was made under the directive of multi-platinum selling artist Sjava, who personally sent Xowla to meet JerryP and invite him to Johannesburg for studio sessions.
Xowla, who performed at Zhumiao Lounge in Pigg’s Peak on Saturday, 30 August 2025, and at Scandza Bar in Siphofaneni on Sunday, 31 August, surprised fans when he brought JerryP on stage. Though not scheduled to perform, JerryP joined Xowla’s set and thrilled the crowd with a powerful live performance of Mlentengamunye.
Before calling him up, Xowla revealed that he had just spoken to Sjava, confirming that JerryP will soon travel to Johannesburg for five days of intensive studio sessions with the Nkabi Records team. He further emphasized that Sjava and his team strongly believe in JerryP’s talent and are committed to supporting him as one of the most promising voices from Eswatini.
The announcement sparked excitement among fans, signaling the start of a new chapter for the young artist as he steps into international collaboration and recognition.
Speaking about the moment, JerryP, real name Phumlani Simphiwe Dlamini shared his gratitude and disbelief:
“It was a moment I’ll never forget. The energy, the love from the crowd, and seeing Xowla call me up felt like a dream turning into reality. Performing Mlentengamunye alongside him gave me goosebumps. It was proof that the song is bigger than me, it belongs to the people now.”
On hearing that Sjava personally asked for him, JerryP said:
“I couldn’t believe it at first. Sjava is someone I grew up listening to and respecting deeply, so to hear that he personally asked Xowla to find me was humbling. It felt like God’s timing and a reminder that hard work never goes unnoticed.”
Looking at what this moment means for Eswatini, JerryP added:
“Personally, it’s validation that I am on the right path. For Eswatini, it shows that our talent is powerful enough to cross borders and be recognized by big names in the industry. It’s not just about me; it’s about opening doors for other artists back home to also dream bigger.”
