MBABANE – Montigny Investments is celebrating Eswatini’s rich cultural heritage as 80 maidens  up from 70 last year  participate in this year’s Umhlanga Reed Dance, showcasing pride, tradition, and community spirit.

The group, which includes five Montigny employees, has been preparing for two weeks ahead of their journey to Ludzidzini Royal Residence. The company provided food, transport, and brand-new traditional regalia, ensuring the maidens proudly represent their communities.

HR Group Manager Thembi Maphanga said Montigny was honored to contribute to such an important tradition. “We are pleased to see more young women showing interest in their culture. Our role is to support and empower them to participate with pride,” she said.

Lutsango members also joined the initiative by cooking and guiding the maidens, helping them uphold the discipline and respect that the event symbolizes.

Umntfwana wenkhosi Ndabazabantu Muziwakhe Dlamini encouraged the maidens to shine as true ambassadors of Eswatini’s heritage. “Carry yourselves with dignity and respect. This is not just a celebration, but a reminder of who we are as a nation,” he said.

The Umhlanga Reed Dance remains one of Eswatini’s most cherished cultural ceremonies, promoting unity, discipline, and pride among the kingdom’s young women.
