MBABANE – EmaSwati showed remarkable commitment to their wellbeing at the 2025 Eswatini International Trade Fair, held from August 31 to September 7, 2025 at Mavuso Exhibition and Trade Centre in Manzini , by visiting the Ministry of Health’s stall to access free services and vital health information.
According to the report released September 9,2025 by the Ministry of Health, 5 080 clients visited the Ministry’s stall, reflecting a growing proactive approach towards personal wellbeing. Of these, 4 327 accessed preventive screenings, while 271 were referred for specialized care at health facilities.

Preventive screenings were especially popular, with chronic disease checks, eye care, and cancer screenings recording the highest uptake. “The high attendance at our stall shows that EmaSwati are increasingly taking charge of their health,” said the Ministry report.
Key screenings included:
.Chronic Disease Screening (Blood Pressure & Blood Sugar): 1 083 clients
.Eye Screening: 393 clients
.Cancer Screening: 339 clients
.Mental Health Support: 201 clients
.TB Screening: 229 clients
Specialist referrals were highest in eye care (175 clients) and mental health (32 clients), highlighting the need for follow-up care. Other referrals covered blood sugar/HbA1c, HIV testing & PrEP, TB, cancer, and additional services.
Health promotion efforts were also strong, with 1 791 IEC materials, 84 HIV self-test kits, and 44 boxes of condoms distributed. Women represented 61 per cent of clients, while the 25–49 years age group was the largest group accessing services.
Although all services at the Trade Fair were free, clients who were referred for specialist care were advised to visit their nearest health facilities, where treatment may incur fees.
The ministry of Health report concluded that the event was a major success, underscoring the importance of preventive care and health awareness. Organizers encouraged even more EmaSwati to engage with health services during the 2026 Trade Fair.
