MBABANE- Ngcoseni residents are preparing to stand with the family of former Ngwempisi Member of Parliament, Mthandeni Dube, this Friday, October 3, 2025, in a prayer gathering ahead of his expected return.
The event, to be held at Dube’s home in Ngcoseni, near Ngcoseni High School, with the KaFakudze bus stop nearby, aims to honor the family, foster unity, and pray for peace.
Speaking to this publication on October 2, 2025, Muzi Mhlanga, Dube’s neighbor and chairman of the organizing committee, emphasized that the gathering is non-political and rooted in goodwill. “We expect a positive spirit,” he said, urging attendees to focus on supporting the family and the wider community.
He warned that any disruptive behavior will not be tolerated, highlighting the importance of respecting Dube’s parole conditions.
Both the Royal Eswatini Police Service and community police have been requested to be present to maintain order, although they will not actively participate in the proceedings.
Dube, who was sentenced to 18 years under the Suppression of Terrorism Act of 2008 and the Sedition and Subversive Activities Act of 1938, was recently granted parole following a formal apology to His Majesty King Mswati III, delivered publicly by Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Prince Simelane, during His Majesty Correctional Services Day.
Family members have expressed gratitude for the community’s support and willingness to join in the prayer. Mhlanga also noted that residents are ready to assist Dube with any community service obligations tied to his parole. “People are eager to help in every way possible,” he said.
The upcoming gathering reflects the family’s and community’s shared hope for reconciliation, peace, and a smooth return for Dube, while sending a clear message that respect and order will guide the occasion.
Donations to support Dube can be made via MOMO using service number 76039513, registered under Senzo Msibi.
