MBABANE – Five local stars are set to represent Eswatini at one of South Africa’s biggest lifestyle and music celebrations, the Phakama Music Festival 2025, returning for its third edition this November.
Set for 01–02 November 2025 at 116 Montana Gardens, Ngwenya Estate, White River in Mpumalanga, the festival will showcase a vibrant mix of music, fashion, art, and culture, and for the first time, a camping experience under the scenic Mpumalanga skies.
The Eswatini acts confirmed for the festival include DJ Cybos (Sibongiseni Lukhele), DJ Tibza (Tubuko Nkumalo), Sbu The Drum DJ (Sibusiso Dlamini), DJ Zulu, and Young Zesh (Mzwandile Comfort Ginindza), who recently won the NACA 2024 Outstanding Afro Pop Artist award.
They will perform alongside a star-studded South African lineup featuring Morda, Oscar Mbo, Lwa Ndlunkulu, Mbuso Khoza, Fistaz Mixwell, Phumla Music, Jabulile Majola, Shakes & Les, Mpo Les, and DJ Benny from Mozambique, among others.
Founded by Siboniso “Twain” Ngwenya, the Phakama Music Festival has grown to become one of Mpumalanga’s premier cultural events, often referred to as “the Coachella of Mpumalanga.” The festival continues to celebrate African creativity, heritage, and cultural tourism through music, art exhibitions, sculpting, workshops, and an entrepreneurial marketplace.
Among the headliners, Mbuso Khoza is expected to deliver a performance rich in traditional Zulu storytelling, while Fistaz Mixwell, a pioneer of South African house music, will light up the stage with his renowned energy. Phumla Music, Mpumalanga’s own multi-award-winning artist, is set to make a highly anticipated homecoming with a soulful performance.
This year’s edition promises an unforgettable blend of music, art, and lifestyle, with organisers hinting at more acts and attractions to be announced in the coming weeks.
