NHLANGANO- DJ Kayd Boizen celebrates record-breaking success.
Born and raised in Nhlangano, Simphiwe Felix Kunene, known in the music industry as DJ Kayd Boizen, is proudly waving the Eswatini flag high beyond borders. Now based in South Africa, the talented DJ and producer has reached a milestone that cements his name among the greats, becoming the first Swati producer to earn a gold plaque for his hit single “Ngizwe Nami.”
The song, which continues to dominate streaming platforms, has surpassed 1.3 million streams on Spotify and 1.1 million views on YouTube, making it one of the most successful tracks ever released by a Swati artist. “Ngizwe Nami” has not only brought him fame but also a renewed sense of pride in his roots.
Recently, DJ Kayd Boizen graced the stage at Mdzimba View Shisanyama in Eswatini, where he performed alongside Da Mabusa. The event was a complete success, drawing massive crowds and showcasing the growing influence of Swati talent in the regional music scene.
When asked how he continues to achieve such success, DJ Kayd Boizen emphasized the importance of patience and teamwork. “A lot of people have been asking me how I’m doing it,” he said. “I tell them, just be patient. Some of us are not meant to be independent; sometimes you need management to help push your dreams.”
Now signed under Major Roles Music Company, DJ Kayd Boizen expressed his gratitude for the support system that helped him reach new heights. However, he still longs for more recognition back home. “Many people back in Eswatini think I’m South African,” he shared. “But nah, I’m from Eswatini, and I’m proud of it.”
