MANZINI – Camera, light, action!

Eswatini TV has officially launched the second season of its acclaimed local drama series, Ekhaya.

The launch event took place at Julio’s Cinelux in Manzini on the evening of 6 November 2025, drawing a lively crowd of guests, fans, and industry figures eager to celebrate the much-anticipated return of the show.

Among the distinguished attendees was Principal Secretary in the Ministry of ICT, Andreas Dlamini, who highlighted the importance of incorporating Siswati into local productions. He noted that the use of the national language in storytelling not only preserves Eswatini’s cultural heritage but also reinforces a sense of national identity and pride.

Ekhaya, meaning “home,” returns with a compelling storyline that continues to follow the King of Mashobeni, delving deeper into themes of power, ambition, and family dynamics. The new season is expected to explore the King’s leadership as he faces mounting challenges that test both his authority and integrity.

Central to the narrative is Mandla Manyatsi, portrayed by Thembinkosi Mthethwa, whose character is driven by a bold vision to empower women and uplift his community while confronting unexpected supernatural trials. He is joined by Setsabile Masina as Mary, Samukelo Dlamini as Manqoba, and Floriana dos Santos as Mthimkhulu — each contributing unique perspectives and emotional depth to the unfolding drama.

The launch event was marked by enthusiasm and celebration, reflecting the passion of the local creative industry. Guests mingled with cast members, producers, and fans, discussing the new season and sharing their excitement about the show’s return. The strong public response underscored Ekhaya’s deep connection with its audience, who continue to identify with its characters and storylines.

The series has earned widespread praise not only for its engaging plots but also for its authentic portrayal of Swazi life. Through traditional values, family relationships, and relatable societal themes, Ekhaya captures the essence of everyday life in Eswatini. Its consistent use of local language and culturally grounded storytelling has made it a source of pride and representation for viewers across the nation.

As Ekhaya Season 2 premieres, audiences can expect a thrilling mix of drama, suspense, and emotional twists that promise to keep them captivated each week. The show airs every Wednesday at 8 PM on Eswatini TV, inviting fans to follow the latest developments in the kingdom of Mashobeni.

The success of Ekhaya reflects a growing confidence in Eswatini’s television industry, as local filmmakers continue to create high-quality content that mirrors the nation’s identity and aspirations. With the launch of Season 2, Eswatini TV not only celebrates a production milestone but also reinforces its commitment to promoting homegrown talent and authentic storytelling.
