MBABANE– Molly’s House of Grills is preparing to light up the local entertainment scene with the return of its popular comedy night, ‘Last Saturday Gags,’ scheduled for later this month.
The edition, themed ‘Cedric & Classmates,’ is set to take place on January 31, 2026. This monthly event aims to provide an evening filled with sophisticated humor, high-quality cuisine, and a showcase of the region’s premier comedic talents.
The ‘Last Saturday Gags’ initiative was born out of a strategic desire to revive and sustain a vibrant comedy culture at Molly’s. While the venue is already celebrated for its mouthwatering grills, the event seeks to provide a consistent professional platform for local comedians to hone their craft and connect with a dedicated audience.
Headlining this edition is the charismatic Cedric, a comedian renowned for his sharp wit and engaging stage presence. Sharing the spotlight are household names Mdura and Dr Shakes, each bringing unique comedic voices and styles. This diverse lineup ensures a rich variety of humor, ranging from observational comedy to relatable storytelling.
Cedric recently took to social media to build anticipation, humorously framing the event as an academic obligation. “Laughter is the assignment and it’s due on January 31st,” he told his followers. “Failure to submit on time means you pay the E100 fine at the door. In an exclusive interview, Cedric elaborated on the vision behind the movement, emphasizing the importance of restoring Molly’s as a hub for stand-up comedy. He recalled the venue’s legacy as a home for laughter dating back to its days at The Riverstone Mall in Manzini. “Our goal is to create a consistent platform for local comedians to showcase their best material and grow,” Cedric explained. “It’s about rebuilding a comedy scene that brings people together every month.”
The organisers are committed to maintaining a standard of excellence, promising that no two shows will be identical. “We are committed to providing a fresh and clean lineup every month. Every comedian will be bringing their A-game, so you can expect new faces, new jokes, and top-tier performances,” Cedric noted.
Tickets are priced for accessibility, with presale options available on Mojatickets for E80 and door entries set at E100. Cedric remains enthusiastic about the synergy between premium food and live entertainment. “Molly’s is already known for its fantastic food, now we’re adding the best gags to the menu.
