MBABANE- The Royal Eswatini Police Service has once again demonstrated its firm commitment to protecting communities and upholding the rule of law, following a series of decisive arrests recorded between 2 January and 8 January 2026.
During this period, police officers across several regions acted swiftly and professionally to apprehend suspects linked to serious criminal activities, sending a strong message that crime will not be tolerated in the Kingdom.
In Mankayane, three men aged 38, 38 and 24 from the Luvinjelweni and Maphalaleni areas were arrested after being found in possession of dagga weighing 90.25 kilograms without a valid permit or licence. The arrest, effected at the Musi area, highlights the police’s determination to curb drug-related offences that threaten community well-being.
Meanwhile in Mbabane, police made a breakthrough in an armed robbery case involving a 36-year-old woman who was attacked while at Mbuyande Supermarket in Maphalaleni. Three male suspects aged 22, 27 and 19 from Luhlendweni and kaNcesi were arrested and charged. The suspects are alleged to have robbed the victim of E4,500 in cash and two mobile phones.
In Tshaneni, officers arrested a 37-year-old man from Dvokolwako together with a 21-year-old from the Ondiyaneni area in connection with the theft of 100 metres of black copper cable valued at E36,522, belonging to EPTC.
Police in Lobamba also arrested a 28-year-old man from the Gundwini area following a break-in at a local hardware store. Property valued at E34,500 and E2,000 in cash had been stolen. All stolen items were successfully recovered.
In Simunye, a 28-year-old man from Siteki kaMzilikazi was arrested and charged in connection with a serious sexual offence reported by an 18-year-old woman from the Hlane, Mathendeni area.
The Royal Eswatini Police Service reaffirmed its resolve to dismantle criminal networks and strengthen safety and security nationwide. Members of the public are encouraged to report suspicious activities by dialing 999/9999 or 112.
