MANZINI– Musa Mzwakhe Ginindza, popularly known as Whizzlkid Lomphofu, is proving that the intersection of music and fashion is a powerful space for young Emaswati entrepreneurs.

This week, his clothing line, De Ghost, officially celebrates its two-year anniversary since its inception in 2024.

The brand, which has quickly become a household name in Manzini and beyond, offers a wide array of quality apparel. From casual wear like hoodies, T-shirts, and caps to more formal pieces like suits and dresses, De Ghost has positioned itself as a versatile local label. The collection also features sweaters, cargo pants, polo necks, and athletic wear such as leggings and shorts.

The journey to this milestone was rooted in a long-standing passion for style. While Ginindza fell in love with the fashion industry as far back as 2022, financial constraints initially stalled his dreams.

“He felt in love with fashion back in 2022 but never had the capital to start the business,” it was noted regarding his early struggles. It wasn’t until 2024 that he was able to use his personal savings to officially launch the brand, overcoming previous setbacks as a side-hustler to focus on his vision full-time.

Operating out of Manzini, De Ghost leverages the power of the digital age to reach its audience. Ginindza has mastered interest-based marketing on platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, and TikTok. This digital-first approach ensures that the brand remains accessible, with a streamlined production process that takes only one to four days to ensure timely delivery to customers.

Reflecting on the brand’s growth and the surprising speed of its local recognition, Ginindza expressed deep gratitude for his support system. “People, especially my friends, are really surprised that the brand is now officially recognized. Many people support it because it is a local brand that shows that emaSwati are supportive. This inspires and motivates me to keep producing quality products,” Ginindza stated.

As De Ghost enters its third year, Whizzlkid Lomphofu continues to balance his identity as an artist with his role as a brand ambassador, fueled by the incredible vision of becoming one of the country’s leading fashion owners.
