MATSAPHA-The baking community in Eswatini is gearing up for a sweet celebration of creativity and excellence as Cake Baking Eswatini prepares to host the highly anticipated Bakers’ Awards Day and Celebrating Excellence Event.

The prestigious event will take place on March 28, 2026, at The Gallery Hotel in Matsapha, starting at 11:00 AM, bringing together bakers, entrepreneurs, and baking enthusiasts from across the country.

The event aims to recognize and celebrate the remarkable talent within Eswatini’s growing baking industry. After four years of empowering bakers and nurturing creativity, Cake Baking Eswatini is hosting the awards to highlight individuals who have demonstrated outstanding skill, innovation, and dedication in the art of baking.

Serving as the keynote speaker for the occasion will be Mluleki S. Dlamini, Director of MSME, who is expected to share insights on entrepreneurship and the importance of supporting small businesses and creative industries in the country. His address will set the tone for a day dedicated to acknowledging excellence and inspiring future bakers.

A panel of respected judges will be responsible for evaluating participants and determining the winners. The judging team includes Mzwandile Dlamini famously known as Stufuza WeCountry, recognized as a young community figure, Nonhlanhla Ndzimandze, a creative baker and social media artist, and Sibongile Eunice Dlamini, who will serve as both moderator and judge. Sibongile is also known for her role as a Domestic Trade Promotions Officer at EIPA.

Competitors will battle it out across seven main award categories, along with three surprise categories, including the exciting Youth Bakers Awards, aimed at encouraging young and upcoming bakers to pursue their passion.

Winners will walk away with a share of prizes worth E23 000, as well as certificates and recognition within the industry. Organizers say the event will not only celebrate achievements but also create networking opportunities for bakers to connect, collaborate, and grow their businesses.

Guests attending the glamorous occasion are encouraged to follow the formal or baking attire dress code, adding a creative touch to the celebration.

As the countdown begins, Bakers’ Awards Day promises to be a landmark event celebrating passion, talent, and the rising success of Eswatini’s baking community
