MBABANE— The Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) has received a new Chery Tiggo 4 Pro SUV through the support of Olympic Solidarity, a move expected to enhance the organisation’s operational capacity and support sport development initiatives across the country.
The vehicle, delivered recently, will assist EOCGA in implementing its various programmes aimed at developing athletes and strengthening collaboration with national sports federations throughout Eswatini.
According to EOCGA, the addition of the vehicle will improve mobility for officials who coordinate training programmes, athlete support activities and administrative engagements with sporting bodies nationwide. This is expected to ensure that development initiatives reach athletes and federations in different regions of the country more efficiently.
The association expressed its appreciation to Olympic Solidarity for the continued assistance, noting that such support plays a significant role in building stronger sport structures and improving opportunities for athletes to grow and compete at higher levels.
Olympic Solidarity, a programme of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), provides assistance to National Olympic Committees around the world, particularly those with the greatest need. Its support focuses on athlete development, training for sports administrators and coaches, as well as improving sports infrastructure and resources.
EOCGA highlighted that the new vehicle will also help in coordinating activities linked to the Olympic Movement and strengthening the relationship between the association and national federations.
Officials further noted that improved logistical capacity is vital in ensuring that athletes receive the support they need to prepare for international competitions and represent the country effectively.
The association reaffirmed its commitment to advancing sport development and promoting the values of the Olympic Movement within the Kingdom.
With continued partnerships and support from international sport bodies, EOCGA believes that local athletes will have better opportunities to develop their talents and compete on the global stage.
