NHLANGANO – Nsingizini Hotspurs Ladies secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Manzini Wanderers Ladies yesterday, May 14, 2026 at Eqinisweni Sports Ground in an Eswatini Women Football Association league match that showcased the growing competitiveness of women’s football in the country.
The decisive goal was scored by Kudakwashe Basopo, helping Hotspurs collect maximum points in front of home supporters during the 1400hrs encounter. The result strengthened Nsingizini’s campaign while handing Wanderers another challenging outing in the league.
The match attracted attention from football supporters and stakeholders as both teams entered the fixture determined to continue pushing for strong performances in the country’s top women’s football competition. Coming into the match, Wanderers midfielder Andiswa Mdlovu had expressed confidence in the team’s preparations and belief ahead of the clash.
However, after the narrow defeat, the midfielder admitted the result was disappointing while insisting the team would continue fighting in upcoming matches. “We are disappointed with the result because we wanted to give our supporters something to celebrate. We created moments in the game, but unfortunately we could not convert our chances,” said Mdlovu.
She further encouraged her teammates to remain united and focused despite the setback. “This result will motivate us to work even harder at training. The season is still continuing, and as players we need to stay disciplined, support one another, and improve in the next matches,” she added.
