SIPHOFANENI– From the quiet community of Phonjwane in the Siphofaneni constituency emerges Sibusiso Shongwe, widely known as Bless LePoet,a multi-talented creative whose voice is steadily shaping Eswatini’s spoken-word and music landscape. A poet, music arranger, content writer, and performer, Bless LePoet is gaining recognition for his emotionally charged storytelling and genre-blending artistry.

Since beginning his journey in 2021, Bless LePoet has built a reputation for crafting message-driven poetry rooted in real-life experiences. His work merges spoken word with Hip-Hop, Amapiano, Gqom, and soulful Afro sounds, creating a distinctive style that resonates with diverse audiences. “I aim to create impactful message-driven poetry that speaks to real life,” he shares, reflecting his commitment to authenticity and purpose.

His creative reach extends beyond poetry stages. Bless LePoet has featured in productions such as Buciko Benhlitiyo and Forest Film Eswatini, showcasing his ability to translate poetic expression into visual storytelling. Internationally, he has contributed as an interviewer for the United States-based Pepper Magazine, further expanding his creative footprint.

At the heart of his mission is empowering emerging artists. As the founder and host of the Bars2Bars Cypher, he provides a platform for upcoming talent to showcase their skills. “I want to help expose artists and create opportunities for them to be seen and heard,” he explains. The annual cypher has become a growing force in nurturing local talent and building a collaborative music culture.

Bless LePoet’s career continues to gain momentum through collaborations with artists across Africa, including South Africa, Ghana, Zambia, Lesotho, and Nigeria. His efforts have earned him nominations such as the 2023 Swazi Fest Writer’s Awards and the 2025 Eswatini Lifestyle Awards.

With a growing fan base and a string of releases like Inhlupheko and Ngilimele, Bless LePoet remains focused on his purpose. “Sengigcina, singagcini ngekuphela kuphela ekupheleni, ngimi um’bhali wakaShongwe,” he says, affirming his identity as a storyteller determined to leave a lasting legacy.
