MALKERNS– As anticipation builds for the Firefly Grand Finale set for 24 April at House on Fire, acclaimed DJ Bandora Da Dj is gearing up to deliver a high-energy performance at one of Eswatini’s most exciting youth-driven showcases. The event, which will determine the top three rising artists set to perform at the iconic MTN Bushfire festival, promises an electrifying fusion of music, talent, and creative expression, headlined by hip-hop star Blackie.
Bandora Da Dj, born Bandisi Dlamini, will be among the DJs tasked with setting the tone for the evening as audiences gather to witness the country’s Top 10 emerging artists battle for a life-changing opportunity. Known for his dynamic stage presence and genre versatility, Bandora says he is ready to rise to the occasion. “They need to expect a versatile Bandora at MTN Bushfire Firefly because I’ll be playing a two-hour set. I want to entertain everyone,” he shared.
The Firefly platform has become a key stepping stone for young creatives, offering exposure and a chance to perform on one of Africa’s most celebrated stages. For Bandora, the significance of the event goes beyond performance. “There’s always expectation in such events. The club scene is different from events. People pay for an experience, and that’s what we prepare for as DJs going to those events,” he explained, highlighting the importance of delivering a memorable show.
With over a decade in the industry since starting his journey in 2013, Bandora has built a solid reputation, sharing stages with major acts such as DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small, and Lwah Ndlunkulu. His experience across top venues and festivals has sharpened his ability to connect with diverse audiences.
As he prepares for the Firefly Grand Finale, Bandora emphasizes strategy and adaptability. “Preparation and research is important because crowds are not the same. Reading the crowd so that you play what they need is a match-winning move,” he said.
