EZULWINI- Eswatini National Youth Council (ENYC) has announced plans to decentralise its services through existing youth centres in Ntonjeni, Lomahasha, Ludzeludze and Siphofaneni as part of efforts to expand access to youth empowerment programmes across the country.
Speaking during the State of the Youth Report Stakeholder Validation Workshop held at Royal Villas on May 8,2026, ENYC Chief Executive Officer Lwazi Mamba said the centres would become hubs of opportunity and empowerment for young people.
“We are excited to announce our plans to decentralise our services to Youth Centres in the Ntonjeni, Lomahasha, Ludzeludze and Siphofaneni communities. These centres will become hubs of opportunity and empowerment for young people,” said Mamba.
He urged young people to fully utilise the services that would be offered through the centres, while calling on stakeholders to support the initiative.
Mamba said the decentralisation drive formed part of ENYC’s broader youth development strategy, which this year would focus on entrepreneurship, digital skills, leadership and governance, sexual and reproductive health awareness, as well as skills development and employment creation.
He said empowering young people with innovation and technology skills was essential in preparing them for future opportunities and sustainable livelihoods.
The ENYC CEO further highlighted the importance of the State of the Youth Report, describing it as a key document that captures the aspirations, challenges and realities faced by young people in Eswatini.
According to Mamba, the report endorsed at African Union level would help guide policy formulation and youth programmes through evidence-based interventions.
He also revealed that ENYC was in the final stages of establishing Tinkhundla Youth Committees under the recently launched National Youth Development Coordination Framework.
Mamba said the committees would help ensure that youth voices were represented and considered in development initiatives at community level.
He further acknowledged the support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs in the development of the State of the Youth Report.
