MALKERNS– The countdown has officially begun.
In just seven days, the scenic House On Fire grounds will transform into a vibrant melting pot of music, art and culture as MTN Bushfire unveils its biggest and most exciting programme yet, with more than 23000 festivalgoers from 22 countries expected to descend on Eswatini for the internationally acclaimed event.
Running from May 29 to 31, the 19th edition of MTN Bushfire promises three unforgettable days of world-class entertainment, cultural exchange and artistic excellence under the inspiring theme “Bring Your Fire.”
Festival organisers have curated a dynamic programme spanning six stages, bringing together celebrated international acts, groundbreaking African collaborations and outstanding local talent in a powerful celebration of creativity, diversity and human connection.
Widely recognised as one of Africa’s premier arts and culture festivals, MTN Bushfire continues to use the power of music and the arts to inspire dialogue, foster unity and promote positive social change. Year after year, it attracts audiences from across the globe while showcasing Eswatini as a leading destination for cultural tourism and creative expression.
One of the most anticipated highlights of this year’s festival is the return of Eswatini-born global Amapiano superstar Uncle Waffles. Her homecoming performance is expected to be a proud and memorable moment for the Kingdom as she brings her signature energy, innovative sound and captivating stage presence back to local audiences.
Music lovers can also look forward to a moving tribute honouring legendary South African artist Busi Mhlongo, reimagined by Buhlebendalo, Xolisa Dlamini and Zawadi YaMungu in what promises to be a celebration of her enduring musical legacy.
The international line-up reflects Bushfire’s global appeal. Audiences will experience the rich Afro-jazz sounds of Kokoroko, the infectious energy of Jupiter & Okwess, and performances from Lesotho’s Selimo Thabane and South Africa’s Moonchild Sanelly. Other crowd favourites include Young Stunna, Ndlovu Youth Choir, Msaki and Jesse Clegg.
Eswatini’s creative talent will also shine brightly on the global stage through performances by Velemseni, Sibu Manzini and Tamika, highlighting the Kingdom’s growing influence in the regional music and arts landscape.
For festivalgoers seeking a more intimate artistic experience, the House On Fire Amphitheatre Stage will host performances by Hope Masike, Yugen Blakrok and a unique collaboration between Lindigo and Anna Sato. Meanwhile, electronic music enthusiasts can immerse themselves in high-energy sets at the Corona Firefly Stage featuring Thakzin, Artwork Sounds, Bandora and Lady Cream.
Beyond the music, MTN Bushfire remains committed to community engagement and social impact. The Bring Your Fire Zone will provide interactive spaces dedicated to sustainability, wellness and meaningful dialogue, while families can enjoy the vibrant KidZone Stage, themed African Circus, where entertainment meets education through storytelling and creative activities.
More than a festival, MTN Bushfire has evolved into a powerful platform that celebrates African creativity, builds global connections and showcases the very best of Eswatini to the world.
As thousands prepare to gather in Malkerns next week, the stage is set for another extraordinary chapter in one of Africa’s most beloved cultural experiences.
