MBABANE– Eswatini’s young pool sensation S’makhelwe Magagula is set to represent the Kingdom at the 2026 World Junior Heyball Championships in Oslo, Norway, from June 12 to 17.
Magagula earned the opportunity after emerging as the reigning junior champion under the Eswatini Cue Sports Association (ECSA), becoming one of the country’s brightest prospects in cue sports.
The talented youngster will carry the national flag onto the global stage, competing against some of the world’s best junior Heyball players in a tournament expected to attract participants from several countries.
The championship provides a valuable platform for the young athlete to gain international exposure, test skills against top-ranked opponents and showcase Eswatini’s growing presence in cue sports.
The Eswatini Cue Sports Association, together with the Eswatini National Sports and Recreation Council (ENSRC), the All Africa Pool Association (AAPA) and the World Pool Association (WPA), has rallied behind the young champion ahead of the prestigious event.
Sports stakeholders have described Magagula’s qualification as a significant milestone for the development of cue sports in the country, highlighting the progress being made in nurturing young talent.
As the countdown to the championships continues, hopes are high that Magagula will make a strong impression in Norway and inspire more young emaSwati to take up the sport.
The nation will be following closely as the junior champion takes on the world, carrying the aspirations of Eswatini and demonstrating that local talent can compete on the international stage.
