MAHLABATSINI – The Church of God’s ambitious plan to construct its national headquarters at Phocweni received a major boost on Sunday after a commitment of E10 000 was made towards the project by National Commissioner of Police Vusi Manoma Masango.
The pledge was announced by Inspector Pastor Mduduzi Makhanya, a senior officer in the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) and Chief Chaplain of the police service, during a special fundraising service held at Mahlabatsini on Sunday May 31,2026.
Addressing congregants, Makhanya said the donation reflected the National Commissioner’s support for the church and its mission. He also urged worshippers to continue praying for Their Majesties, Government leaders and all those entrusted with authority.
Quoting 1 Timothy 2, he said Scripture instructs believers to offer prayers for everyone, particularly those in leadership positions.
“We must pray for Their Majesties, Government and all those in power so that we may live peaceful and quiet lives as a nation. Peace is sustained through prayer, and the Church has a divine responsibility to intercede for those who lead us,” said Makhanya.
Church leader Pastor Manana appealed to emaSwati to contribute generously towards the construction project, saying collective support would help accelerate its completion.
He revealed that construction of the headquarters is still at an early stage, but expressed confidence that the building would be roofed by the end of the year and fully completed the following year.
Pastor Manana said the headquarters would serve as a spiritual home for the church and provide facilities that would strengthen its ministry and community outreach programmes.
Among those in attendance were Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology Andreas Dlamini, members of the Royal Eswatini Police Service, church leaders and congregants from different parts of the country.
Church members responded positively to the fundraising drive, with leaders expressing optimism that continued support from worshippers, stakeholders and well-wishers would help turn the vision into reality.
The project is expected to become a lasting symbol of faith, unity and commitment, providing a permanent home for the Church of God’s growing ministry and future generations of worshippers.
