TIMPHISINI – More than 5 000 vulnerable residents from Timphisini and Ntfonjeni Tinkhundla received food parcels, mattresses, blankets and other essential items from the Sicalo Foundation during a massive outreach programme held at Etimphisini High School on June 07, 2026.
The beneficiaries included the elderly, people with disabilities, child-headed households, vulnerable families and learners, all of whom benefited from the Foundation’s humanitarian support initiative aimed at easing the burden of rising living costs.
The Foundation is led by His Royal Highness Prince Sicalo, who serves as its founder, chairperson and patron.
Addressing the gathering, Prince Sicalo thanked sponsors and partners who continue to support the Foundation’s work across the country.
“We are happy to be with you today and to share what we have received through the support of our sponsors. As we enter the winter season, the mattresses and blankets will help keep families warm and ensure that people do not sleep on the floor,” he said.
Prince Sicalo said the Foundation draws motivation from the appreciation shown by communities and remains committed to improving the lives of vulnerable emaSwati.
Hhohho Regional Administrator Princess Tsandzile commended Prince Sicalo for his continued efforts to support vulnerable members of society.
“We thank you for the good work you are doing and for supporting the vision of Their Majesties to ensure that no one is left behind. His Majesty King Mswati III has consistently encouraged emaSwati to care for the vulnerable, including building houses for those in need,” she said.
Princess Tsandzile further said the outreach reflected the values of compassion and service that Prince Sicalo taught by His mother Inkhosikati Make LaMatsebula.
The event was attended by Prince Mcwasho, who is also a member of the Foundation, Foundation’s CEO Stella Dlamini, Chiefs from various chiefdoms under the two constituencies, Members of Parliament and other community leaders.
The occasion was marked by entertainment, singing and dancing as beneficiaries celebrated the donations. MPs also joined senior citizens on the dance floor and handed out cash to some of the elderly, creating a festive atmosphere.
The food parcels contained basic household necessities, including maize meal, rice, vegetables, juice, tomato sauce and other grocery items aimed at improving food security among vulnerable households.
The Sicalo Foundation has been operating for more than 20 years and has assisted hundreds of thousands of emaSwati through food donations, blankets, housing projects and other community development initiatives.
Recent outreach programmes have benefited more than 3 000 people in Gege and Sithobelweni, over 2 500 residents in Maphalaleni, more than 500 vulnerable people in Manzini North and 420 elderly residents in Hololo.
The Foundation said it would continue expanding its outreach programmes to ensure that more vulnerable families receive support across the country.
