MBABANE– A powerful demonstration of compassion and community partnership unfolded on Wednesday as Grace Centre Church (GCC), Siphofaneni Branch, donated 100 toiletry packs valued at E15 000 to His Majesty’s Correctional Services (HMCS), reinforcing the shared commitment to restoring dignity and supporting offender rehabilitation.
According to information shared on His Majesty’s Correctional Services Facebook page, the donation included essential personal hygiene items such as body lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, roll-on deodorant and face cloths. These supplies will assist inmates who lack access to basic toiletries, helping improve their well-being while preserving their dignity.
The handover ceremony took place at the HMCS Headquarters in Mbabane and was led by Prophet Agape Eternity alongside Grace Centre Church members. The donation was officially received by Acting Commissioner General Luke Malindzisa in the presence of Deputy Commissioner General Bongani Khumalo, Senior Superintendent Rainy Dlamini, Chief Chaplain Chief Officer Sifiso Dlamini and other correctional officers.
Deputy Commissioner General Khumalo expressed gratitude to Grace Centre Church for its continued support of HMCS rehabilitation programmes, noting that while the toiletries address an immediate need, they also symbolize hope, self worth and the restoration of human dignity qualities that are essential in the rehabilitation journey.
The church explained that the outreach initiative forms part of its 2026 Jubilee Celebration theme, inspired by Leviticus 25:10 and Isaiah 61:1–2, which encourage believers to promote freedom, restoration and hope by serving vulnerable members of society. Church leaders emphasized that their ministry extends beyond material assistance to include spiritual encouragement through prayer.
Grace Centre Church Chief Administrator Armstrong Dlamini said the church remains committed to serving those in need, describing the donation as an expression of faith in action. Prophet Agape Eternity reaffirmed the congregation’s belief that every individual deserves an opportunity to rebuild their life and contribute positively to society.
Receiving the donation, Acting Commissioner General Malindzisa commended Grace Centre Church for its unwavering ministry of giving, highlighting the vital role faith-based organisations play in complementing government efforts to rehabilitate offenders. He said partnerships between HMCS, churches and communities strengthen rehabilitation by addressing both the physical and spiritual needs of inmates.
The initiative reflects how compassion, collaboration and faith continue to create pathways for transformation, giving hope to individuals preparing for successful reintegration into society.
