MBABANE– Eswatini’s young dancers have officially stepped onto the global stage after Talent N Motion Academy began competing at the 2026 Dance World Cup Finals in Dublin, Ireland, proudly flying the national flag in one of the world’s biggest dance competitions.
The academy’s ballet dancers opened Team Eswatini’s campaign on Thursday, with Nkosinemusa Gumedze becoming the first local performer to take to the stage in the Mini Solo Ballet category. She was followed by Elihle Masinga, while Wenziwe Mtshali completed the country’s ballet trio later in the day.
Ahead of the performances, Talent N Motion called on emaSwati to rally behind the dancers as they represented the Kingdom on the international stage.
“The wait is over! Our dancers are officially representing Eswatini at the Dance World Cup in Ireland. Our three beautiful ballet dancers have trained so hard for this moment. They are ready to share their love for dance with the world,” the academy founder Velile said.
As the competition got underway, Talent N Motion shared that Nkosinemusa and Elihle had successfully completed their performances, describing the moment as a proud milestone for both the dancers and the country.
“Our hearts are so full. Nkosinemusa Gumedze and Elihle Masinga have officially stepped onto the world stage and danced their hearts out,” the academy posted.
The academy also released behind-the-scenes moments showing the dancers preparing backstage and taking in the atmosphere at the convention centre before their performances.
“We are so incredibly proud of how beautifully they represented Eswatini today,” the post read, while encouraging supporters back home to continue cheering on Wenziwe before she took to the stage.
According to the official Dance World Cup schedule, Team Eswatini will continue competing throughout the week in several categories, including solo ballet, lyrical, street dance, commercial and group ballet performances.
The academy’s participation marks another significant milestone for Eswatini’s growing dance industry, with the young performers showcasing local talent alongside dancers from countries across the globe.
