MBABANE– Before the books are opened and the official launch takes centre stage, South African bestselling author, broadcaster and HIV activist Nozibele Qamngana-Mayaba is already being welcomed with open arms in Eswatini.
With just over a month to go before her highly anticipated Let Me Tell You Something book launch on October 3, 2026, Mayaba has taken her promotional campaign beyond social media and into the heart of the Kingdom, meeting Emaswati, visiting institutions and connecting with personalities who are helping set the tone for her homecoming.
Mayaba, who has been in Eswatini ahead of the official launch, shared glimpses of her visit on social media, describing the reception as deeply moving.
“Ground work in Eswatini 🇸🇿. I’m honestly moved by your love and support,” she said, while encouraging people to secure their tickets for the event.
The author also made a stop at the Eswatini International Trade Fair, where she shared her excitement at being part of the annual showcase.
“Let’s go,” she wrote, giving followers a glimpse into her growing connection with the Kingdom ahead of the big day.
Her visit has also been marked by meaningful encounters, including a meeting with gospel personality Nothando Hlophe, whom Mayaba warmly described as “S’thandwa Hlophe Nothando”.
“How can we be in Eswatini without seeing H. E. R 👑?” she said, while playfully revealing that they were still praying for divine intervention for Hlophe to join the October 3 event despite being booked.
Mayaba also received a warm welcome from Manzini Metropolitan Evangelical Church, thanking Baba and Make Matsenjwa for hosting her.
“A special thanks to Manzini Metropolitan Evangelical Church for hosting us this afternoon. Baba noMake Matsenjwa – thank you for welcoming us into your home,” she said.
Her repeated declaration, “Eswatini, God is about to tell us something,” has now become a familiar teaser surrounding the launch.
The October 3 experience will centre on Let Me Tell You Something, a devotional that blends Scripture with Mayaba’s personal reflections on forgiveness, discipline, healing, courage and growth.
The book presents an intimate conversation between the author, the reader and God, drawing from everyday experiences and faith.
Mayaba, who rose to prominence through her openness about living with HIV, has built a powerful career as an author, speaker, podcaster and television host. She is also known for her bestselling memoir Positively Me: Daring to Live and Love Beyond HIV.
Adding a distinctly local flavour to the experience, award-winning Eswatini gospel artist Shekinah Motsa, a member of the renowned Spirit of Praise collective, is also set to be part of the occasion.
Organisers have acknowledged the support of Evolve Media, the Eswatini National Trust Commission and Mantenga Nature Reserve and Cultural Village in bringing the experience to Eswatini.
Tickets are already available through Quicket and Moja Tickets, as anticipation builds ahead of the official October gathering.
For now, Mayaba’s pre-launch visit has made one thing clear: the Kingdom is not waiting for October 3 to welcome her.
