NOKWANE – The Royal Eswatini National Airways Corporation (RENAC) honoured 21 employees with long service awards and recognised one retiring employee.
Speaking at the corporation’s inaugural long service award ceremony held at Summerfields Boutique Hotel at Nokwane on Friday evening, RENAC Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) Captain President Dhlamini said: “Today, we celebrate a milestone, not only for our organisation, but for the dedicated individuals whose commitment, professionalism and hard work have contributed to RENAC’s success.”
Dhlamini said the ceremony was a testament to the value that RENAC placed on recognising the awardees’ contributions.
“Your contributions have helped shape and strengthen our organisation and inspired many colleagues along the way,” he said.
About 17 of the awardees received certificates and trophies recognising their 10 years of service, while one was honoured for 17 years and three for more than 30 years.
Dhlamini paid special tribute to the only retiree, Captain Robert Dlamini, the revered pilot with 38 years’ experience who also served as RENAC’s Flight Operations Director.
“We also extend special appreciation to our retiring colleague, Captain Robert Dlamini, whose distinguished career has been marked by professionalism, leadership and an unwavering commitment to aviation excellence,” he said.
“His contribution to our organisation and the aviation industry will remain part of RENAC’s legacy for years to come.”
He further urged every employee to note that dedication mattered and that their contributions were recognised and appreciated. The GCEO congratulated all the 22 recipients.
“On behalf of the board, management and the entire RENAC group, thank you for your service and dedication. May this ceremony mark the beginning of a proud tradition of celebrating the people whose efforts continue to drive our organisation forward,” Dhlamini said.
“Together, these recipients represent an estimated 277 years of service, reflecting a remarkable legacy of dedication, experience, institutional knowledge and leadership. To all our non-service recipients, thank you for your loyalty, resilience and commitment.”
Meanwhile, RENAC Board Chairman Mndeni Mazibuko, who was represented by Board Member Abner Dlamini, said the ceremony was not just about counting years, but remembering the journey, recognising the people who have walked it, appreciating where they have come from and looking ahead with confidence.
He noted that when RENAC was re-established about 10 years ago, there were aspirations about what the organisation could become and the contribution it could make to the country.
“Today, we can look back and say that those aspirations have steadily taken shape. The RENAC of today has grown in responsibility, in experience, and importantly, in its contribution to the economy of the Kingdom of Eswatini,” he said.
To the awardees, Mazibuko said: “I want to say a very sincere thank you. You are the people who have carried this institution for the past 10 years. Some of you have indeed been part of this journey from the early days. You have watched RENAC grow, change and mature.”
He said every awardee contributed a chapter to the RENAC story.
Mazibuko also thanked the government for the confidence it showed in RENAC, and the support that has enabled the corporation to carry an important national responsibility.
“Our appreciation equally goes to the ministry responsible for our sector, which is the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, our regulators, business partners, customers and the many institutions that have worked alongside RENAC during these 10 years,” he said.
The Board Chairperson also expressed appreciation to the GCEO and management for translating strategy and board decisions into RENAC’s daily work.
“May we continue strengthening our operations. May we continue developing our people. May we continue improving the experience of those who use our services,” said Mazibuko.
“May we continue building a certain connectivity with the region and the world. May RENAC remain an institution that future generations will be proud to call their own.”
The Chairman also recognised RENAC’s shareholders, stakeholders, previous boards and the current leadership.
