MBABANE — The roar of motorcycle engines is bringing a different kind of energy to the capital city this weekend, as Mbabane welcomes bikers from across Eswatini and beyond for the inaugural +268 MCC Bikers Rally.
The rally, hosted by the +268 Bikers Club on Saturday, 19 September 2026, has been welcomed by the Mbabane Municipality as an opportunity to celebrate the biker community while promoting community spirit, tourism and partnerships within the city.
Speaking at the inaugural rally, Mbabane Municipality Mayor Thulani Mkhonto praised the bikers for going beyond the thrill of riding by using their platform to support communities and vulnerable people.
“You ride with a mission to uplift, support, and touch the lives of the most vulnerable among us,” Mkhonto said.
Mkhonta said the Municipality appreciated the charity work and community outreach associated with the gathering, describing the biker community as one driven by generosity, compassion and a strong sense of humanity.
He said the presence of bikers had also brought colour, excitement and a renewed sense of vibrancy to Mbabane, highlighting the potential of lifestyle events to contribute to tourism and the city’s economy.
“There is nothing quite like the collective roar of engines echoing through our valleys to signal that Mbabane is vibrant, open for business, and alive with lifestyle tourism,” he said.
The event brings together bikers and motorcycle clubs from near and far, giving participants an opportunity to connect, ride through the city and experience Mbabane’s hospitality and scenic surroundings.
For the Municipality, the rally also reflects its efforts to position Mbabane as a city that welcomes diverse sporting, cultural and lifestyle activities.
Mkhonto said the Council remained committed to creating a dynamic and inclusive city where community events could flourish while strengthening partnerships between the Municipality and organisations such as the +268 Bikers Club.
Beyond entertainment and the spectacle of motorcycles, the rally places emphasis on responsible riding and community participation.
Mkhonto urged bikers to make the most of their time in Mbabane while observing road rules and prioritising safety.
“As you cruise through our scenic routes and enjoy the hospitality of our capital city this weekend, I urge you to experience everything Mbabane has to offer,and, above all, to ride safely, respect our rules of the road, and look out for one another,” he said.
The inaugural rally therefore brings together three key elements , motorcycles, community and tourism,while creating a platform for bikers to strengthen relationships and contribute positively to communities.
Mkhonta congratulated the organisers and riders for staging the inaugural event, saying the city was proud to partner with the biker community.
As engines continue to echo through Mbabane, the rally is not only showcasing the city as a destination for lifestyle events but also highlighting how the biker community can use its passion for riding to create meaningful connections and give back.
