MBABANE – Gospel artist Sabelo Matse moved worshippers during the Ascension Day prayer service held on 14 May 2026 at Mbangweni Royal Residence.
His powerful performance of Ungujehova Lophilako drew an emotional response from the congregation and resulted in donations totalling E5 000. Sabelo Matse is a rising, award-winning gospel artist from Eswatini, recognized for his talent and resilience as a person with a disability.
The service, which brought together worshippers for national prayer and reflection, was transformed into a deeply uplifting moment when Matse took to the stage and delivered a performance that resonated strongly with those in attendance.
His angelic voice filled the venue as he sang, drawing visible emotion from worshippers who responded with praise and admiration. As the performance continued, members of the congregation began rising from their seats and approaching the stage, where they expressed appreciation through embraces and financial offerings.
The spontaneous outpouring of support saw contributions reaching E5 000, reflecting the strong connection between Matse and the worshippers, as well as the impact of his message through music.
The atmosphere shifted into one of joy, unity and celebration, with many praising both the spiritual message of the song and Matse’s vocal delivery. His performance stood out as one of the highlights of the national service, leaving a lasting impression on the congregation.
This comes after a similar moment during the Good Friday service at Lobamba National Church, where Matse also lifted spirits and received E7 137 in offerings, further highlighting his growing presence at major national worship gatherings.
