MANZINI – The final whistle, the roar from supporters and the excitement of victory brought the Scalisa Foundation’s sports and culture competitions to a close, with Hot Chillies FC, Mpolonjeni and KaShoba Lutsango emerging as the day’s winners.
Hot Chillies FC walked away with the football title after a closely fought final that went all the way to a penalty shootout. With the match decided from the spot, the team kept its composure to lift the trophy.
On the netball court, Mpolonjeni finished as champions of the women’s tournament. The team’s campaign ended with the players receiving their medals and trophy in celebration of their victory.
The competition extended beyond the sporting fields, with KaShoba Lutsango claiming first place in the Lutsango competition and taking home the E10 000 grand prize.
The three competitions brought different forms of talent into one programme, with football and netball providing the sporting contest while Lutsango added a cultural dimension.
For Hot Chillies, the penalty shootout provided a dramatic finish. For Mpolonjeni, the netball court ended in a championship celebration, while KaShoba Lutsango’s victory added a cultural highlight to the event.
Together, the competitions gave participants an opportunity to compete, showcase their abilities and celebrate their achievements alongside their communities.
