NDZINGENI— Member of Parliament for Ndzingeni Inkhundla, Gcina S. Magagula, has handed over a newly constructed house valued at E50 000 to the Fakudze family, fulfilling a commitment to improve the living conditions of the elderly couple.
The handover of the completed home has brought relief to Gogo and Mkhulu Fakudze, who will now have a safer and more comfortable place to live.
The initiative was undertaken as part of efforts by the Ndzingeni constituency leadership to assist vulnerable and destitute families, particularly senior citizens who may struggle to improve their living conditions.
Speaking during the handover, Magagula said the project was driven by the need to restore dignity to elderly members of the community and ensure that they live in decent conditions.
” shelter is a necessity for every human being, not to mention when it’s elderly people,” said Magagula.
He said the completion of the house demonstrated what could be achieved when community members, individuals and stakeholders joined hands to support those in need.
Magagula expressed appreciation to everyone who contributed towards the construction of the house, saying the assistance had helped turn the commitment into a completed home for the Fakudze family.
Receiving the house, Boy Fakudze expressed gratitude to the MP for responding to the family’s situation and ensuring that the promise to assist them became a reality.
” Am short of words, I will now sleep peacefully under shelter,” said Fakudze.
He thanked the Honourable Magagula and all those who contributed to the construction of the house, saying the new home had brought happiness and relief to the family.
The E50 000 project highlights the importance of community-based interventions in addressing the needs of vulnerable households.
For the Fakudze couple, the completion of the house marks more than the construction of a building; it provides an improved living environment and renewed dignity in their later years.
The initiative also calls attention to the role of constituency leadership and community participation in responding to the welfare needs of senior citizens and other vulnerable members of society.
With the house now completed and handed over, the Fakudze family can look forward to living in a more secure and comfortable environment.
