EZULWINI– From the infectious sounds of Siyabonga Gogo to the energetic traditional dance moves that have been captivating audiences, Eswatini’s music and cultural entertainment scene is preparing for another lively celebration as Sancheziey and Mavusane Cyzweh, popularly known as Butsegetsege, are set to bring their distinct talents to Kagogo Weekend on 7 November at The Destination-SZ.

The event will bring together music, dance and cultural expression, with Sancheziey leading the entertainment alongside AS 4 Jerry P and Butsegetsege, whose energetic traditional dance style has been attracting attention beyond Eswatini’s borders.

For Sancheziey, the upcoming performance is more than another date on the entertainment calendar. It is an opportunity to celebrate the growing reception of his music, connect with supporters and showcase what he calls the Salukazana Brand.

“Being chosen as one of the headline acts for Kagogo Weekend means a lot to me. It shows that the work we have been putting in is being recognised and that the music is connecting with people,” he said.

He added that being trusted to headline an event celebrating Swazi culture, music and entertainment was something he deeply appreciated.

The singer is expected to perform his popular song Siyabonga Gogo, which recently made its debut on Metro FM, giving the release exposure on a South African radio platform.

With anticipation building around the song, Sancheziey has hinted that its live presentation will offer something different from what listeners have experienced through recordings.

“I don’t want to give everything away, but fans can expect Siyabonga Gogo to feel different when they experience it live at Kagogo Weekend. We are working on making the performance energetic, interactive and memorable,” he said.

Beyond the hit, audiences can also expect music from uMntfwana weLive, bringing different emotions and sounds into a performance designed to keep fans engaged.

The singer said the growing attention his music was receiving beyond Eswatini had encouraged him to raise his performance standards, particularly in stage presence, energy and audience interaction.

“I don’t just want people to hear Sancheziey; I want them to experience the Salukazana Brand,” he said.

Adding a strong cultural element to the occasion is Butsegetsege, whose real name is Mavusane Cyzweh. He has become recognisable for his distinctive traditional dance moves, which have helped draw attention to Swazi cultural expression through entertainment.

His performances celebrate movement, rhythm and local identity, giving audiences an opportunity to experience traditional dance in a lively, contemporary entertainment setting. His growing visibility has also helped bring attention to the cultural talent emerging from Eswatini.

Butsegetsege was in the country over the past weekend and is expected to return for Kagogo Weekend, giving fans another opportunity to witness the performer whose dance style has been generating excitement.

Sancheziey said he was looking forward to sharing the stage with both Butsegetsege and AS 4 Jerry P, noting that each artist brought a different identity to the entertainment scene.

He described Butsegetsege’s ability to take Swazi culture beyond the country’s borders as particularly exciting, adding that the combination of music and dance would make the event special.

As the countdown to 7 November continues, Sancheziey has encouraged supporters to attend rather than hear about the experience afterwards.

“If you have been saying you want to see what Sancheziey is about, 7 November is your opportunity. Come to The Destination-SZ and witness it for yourself,” he said.

His final message to fans was simple: “‘Siyabonga Gogo’ has given us a reason to dance, and Kagogo Weekend is the perfect place to celebrate that journey together. Don’t hear about the moment the next day; be part of the moment when it happens.”

With Sancheziey’s music, AS 4 Jerry P’s contribution and Butsegetsege’s traditional dance moves on the programme, Kagogo Weekend is shaping up to be a celebration of local sound, cultural pride and the performers bringing Eswatini’s entertainment identity to life.
